ALIA's Code of Ethics and Business Performance.

Transparent, complete and accurate information

ALIA is committed to building transparent business relationships.

By transparency we mean that you can expect to receive complete and accurate information about the insurance program developed for you and the way we approach insurance markets to obtain the coverage you seek.  This is what you can expect from your account manager and/or team:

  1. ALIA prides itself on its customer service, always seeking to provide our clients the best coverage for the best price.  We will analyze your firm's history, areas of practice, potential exposure, etc. and make recommendations to you about the types of coverage and the insurers we feel will provide you with the best protection.

  2. We will seek your authorization and direction concerning the marketing of your insurance program before presenting your program to insurance markets.

  3. All information ALIA is given is held in the strictest confidence.  ALIA will not generally disseminate, i.e., 'blanket the market' with your application.  We will submit directly to an insurer or use the insurer's authorized General Agent.

  4. Your law firm is not under any obligation to accept any quote tendered by an ALIA representative.  There is no charge for our services and we do not charge 'policy fees'; we are amply compensated by our premium commissions.

  5. Before we advise you to bind your insurance coverages, we will disclose to you a summary of all quotes requested and received from insurers in response to application submissions.  Because our primary objective is to provide with the best coverage for the most competitive price, our quotes are not negotiable.

  6. We will require authorization from you before we bind coverage for you.  On all new accounts, ALIA requires written authorization.  ALIA will prepare a written Notice of Acceptance for your firm and send it to you.  This NOA must be printed on your firm's letterhead, and signed and dated by a responsible party in your firm.  Although a copy of the NOA can be faxed or e-mailed back to ALIA in order to expedite binding the coverage, the original must be returned to ALIA.  We need this written consent before we can proceed.

  7. You will receive a document 'binder' which binds your firm's insurance coverage (maximum 60 days) in advance of policy issuance.

  8. Your policy will be sent to you as soon as it has been received by ALIA.  Most insurers issue a policy within 30 days of a policy's effective date.

  9. ALIA does not earn interest income on premium payments held in trust during the period between receipt of premium payments from our clients and the time such payments are remitted to the applicable insurer.

Most of our clients achieve significant savings and they do it with ease.
